Whilst the plan talks about sustainable transport and the preference for walking and cycling there's is little detail about how this will be achieved or how this builds on the current network. The current network, whilst benefitting from some enhancements in signage and other measures has not fundamentally progressed for some years now - whilst Cheltenham has a better overall opportunity to encourage sustainable travel that many comparable towns. This is only an opportunity for a real step change if the ambition is genuine and planned. A good example of incomplete links to the town centre can be found on Bath Road where one set of traffic lights has pedestrian signalled crossings where the second set has none - with poor line of sight crossings complaining risks for those walking or cycling.

Do you consider it necessary to participate at the Examination in Public? No
