Cheltenham Plan (part one): Issues and Options

Cheltenham Plan consultations

Cheltenham Plan scope

An eight week consultation ended on 2 September 2013. It looked to evaluate and establish the focus of the Cheltenham Plan. In total we received 52 responses from a range of interest groups, public and private sector bodies, and individuals. The full responses are available to view, together with a summary of the responses.

Cheltenham Plan (part one): Issues and Options

During the summer months of 2015 we published the Cheltenham Plan (part one) issues and options’ for a six week public consultation. Businesses, residents and visitors to Cheltenham were invited to submit comments online. This consultation opened at 12am on Monday 22 June and closed at 5pm on Monday 3 August 2015.

A copy of these consultation documents, questionnaires, maps and supporting evidence can be found on our online consultation webpage.

Consultation responses will be published on this webpage during autumn 2015.

Next stage

The next stage is to prepare the ‘draft plan’ (or to give it its technical name ‘pre-submission draft’), this is due to be published in early 2016.

This builds on the ‘issues and options’ stage and importantly it will consider comments submitted during the consultation. The draft plan will provide the preferred policy approach for local green space and employment and the preferred location for future development.

In addition to this we will also be undertaking a 'call for sites' as part of our annual review of identifying sites for possible future development. This is scheduled for autumn 2015.

Register online 24/7

You can register online at any time irrespective of there being a live consultation. This is a great way to keep up-to-date with future Cheltenham Plan consultations.

Registering online allows:

  • you to be kept informed of future consultations;
  • you to save and review draft responses before submitting, making it easier for you to manage your representations; and
  • us to analyse representations quicker and incorporate suggestions into the Plan.
